The Assistant Field Hockey Coach is responsible for organizing aspects of recruiting, coaching, and development of Division I student-athletes at Lafayette College, and supports all facets of the women’s field hockey program, as designated by Head Coach.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in evaluation and recruitment of prospective student-athletes with excellent academic background to a NCAA Division I institution. Assist in scouting and in-season film evaluation and breakdown. Assist with camp and clinic programming. Assist in fund-raising, development activities, and any additional special events. Assist in continued development of positive public relations with alumni and the community, including digital and social media. Assist with travel preparations. Assist in player development and mentorship of student-athletes. Assist in working closely with Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning Staff to ensure paralleled work in a high performance setting. Work closely with support staff including Sports Medicine for the prevention and care of athletic injuries and student-athlete success staff to support the holistic development of student-athletes. Attend department meetings. Perform all additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Athletic Administration and Head Field Hockey Coach.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. 1-3 years experience coaching at the Division I level. Understanding of sport science and human performance is preferred. Knowledge of and ability to abide by NCAA, Patriot League, and Lafayette College rules and regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills along with knowledge of Google Workspace for Education and ARMS. Driver’s license and vehicle required. Nights and weekends required.
