Welcome to Human Resources at Lafayette College, an online resource for our faculty and staff employees, retirees, and potential new employees.

Message from HR - How to reach us during COVID-19

  • Due to concerns related to COVID-19, the College has moved to a remote work status for most employees (those not essential to work on campus). Please be assured that mail, email, and voice messages to Human Resources are being retrieved throughout the workday, and responses to benefit, retirement, employment, or other Human Resource matters will be handled as quickly as possible under the current circumstances.   We are committed to maintaining our services and continuing our support of the community throughout this period.  If you have an urgent HR issue, please call 610 330 5060 and leave a detailed message and your phone number, or send an email to the HR mailbox at hroffice@lafayette.edu.   If this is an emergency, please contact Public Safety at ext. 4444.

Letter to our Staff

  • Dear Valued Colleague, First and foremost, thank you for the extraordinary effort you have made to jump in and find ways to support the continuous delivery of a quality academic experience for our students and provide support for our faculty and administrative colleagues. These are unprecedented times, and our community of staff members has risen so powerfully, spontaneously, and creatively to meet the challenge. In the days since the COVID-19 global pandemic began to unfold, we moved to a remote work environment for all but a few positions that were essential to the continued support of those students remaining on campus. Under the guidelines of federal and state authorities, we have remained in a remote work environment, reduced the number of students on campus, and further narrowed the group of colleagues who need to work on campus. Those remaining on campus are practicing physical distancing. We originally set the remote work schedule until at least April 5, but now will continue in that mode until further notice. We know that these unusual times have given rise to numerous questions. We have attempted to answer as many as possible in a set of more detailed Working at Lafayette FAQs. If you find that we have overlooked a question, please send it to hroffice@lafayette.edu, and we will work to include it as we update these FAQs. The health, safety, and welfare of our staff and the entire community is our highest priority. We have sought to navigate these challenges with that foremost in our minds and will continue to do so. You have been, and will continue to be, fundamental to the successful transition to delivering education remotely, and your efforts have made the seemingly insurmountable become possible. We hope that we can rely on your continued ingenuity and support for one another as we move forward together in support of Lafayette’s mission. Be well and stay safe, Office of Human Resources
