The Assistant Director/Assistant AD for Compliance supports the Senior Associate Athletic Director in managing Lafayette College’s Division I NCAA compliance program. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the College’s full compliance with NCAA, Patriot League, and institutional rules and regulations. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student-Athlete Development to support a culture of integrity, accountability, and student-athlete welfare across 23 Division I varsity sports. This position serves as a key resource for coaches, staff, and student-athletes and contributes to the academic and competitive success of the department by promoting understanding, education, and adherence to all applicable guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Provide timely and accurate rules interpretations to coaches, staff, student-athletes, and campus stakeholders.
● Assist in developing and delivering a comprehensive rules education program.
● Stay informed on current NCAA and Patriot League legislation and disseminate key updates.
● Assist in monitoring recruiting activities, playing/practice seasons, eligibility, and financial aid compliance.
● Maintain up-to-date documentation and audit systems to support institutional control.
● Support the NCAA reporting process, including Eligibility Center certification, squad lists, and academic progress reports.
● Collaborate with academic services and the registrar to monitor continuing eligibility and progress-toward-degree requirements.
● Oversee processes for official/unofficial visits, National Letters of Intent, and transfer evaluations.
● Coordinate initial eligibility reviews with the NCAA Eligibility Center and Admissions Office.
● Maintain accurate records using software systems (e.g., Teamworks, NCAA Compliance Assistant).
● Assist in the annual NCAA reporting process, including Sports Sponsorship & Demographics and Graduation Success Rate (GSR).
● Help prepare materials for institutional or NCAA audits and reviews.
● Support the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
● Work collaboratively with offices across campus—including Financial Aid, Admissions, and Academic Advising—to ensure compliance is integrated into campus operations.
● Provide support at home athletic events, ensuring adherence to NCAA and institutional protocols.
● Assist with game-day operations as needed, including pass list monitoring, staff credentialing, and player/coach bench access.
● Act as a liaison between the compliance office and event management staff to support smooth execution of contests.
● Serve on department or campus-wide committees as assigned.
● Assist and/or lead special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.
● 2–5 years of experience in NCAA compliance, preferably at the Division I level.
● Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and an ability to apply them with clarity and consistency.
● Familiarity with compliance software systems (e.g., Teamworks, CAi, LSDBi) preferred.
● Upon position acceptance, successful completion of PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
