Lafayette College is seeking a part-time Assistant Coach for its Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with a competitive NCAA Division I program while fostering the growth and development of student-athletes on and off the court. The Assistant Coach will report directly to the Head Tennis Coach and assist in all aspects of the program, while ensuring compliance with Lafayette College, Patriot League, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Coach and develop student-athletes in both the Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs.
● Recruit and assess prospective student-athletes with strong academic and athletic credentials for a competitive NCAA Division I program.
● Assist in scouting opponents and conducting in-season film evaluation and breakdown.
● Ensure compliance with NCAA and Patriot League rules and regulations.
● Help organize and plan special events, including team functions, camps, and clinics.
● Participate in fund-raising and development initiatives to support the tennis programs.
● Foster positive public relations with alumni and the broader community.
● Support team operations during competitive contests, including game-day preparation and execution.
● Advise student-athletes on both athletic and academic matters to support their overall development.
● Attend departmental meetings and contribute to the overall goals of the athletic department.
● Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Athletic Administration and Head Tennis Coach.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.
● Upon position acceptance, successful completion of PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
● 1-3 years of college or professional coaching experience is preferred.
● Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
● Experience in recruiting and assessing student-athletes at the collegiate level is highly desirable.
● Ability to work collaboratively with staff, student-athletes, and the Lafayette community.
● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Compensation & Application:
