As college application season is underway for the upcoming academic year, the Office of Human Resources would like to remind faculty and staff to review Lafayette’s Tuition Programs, which provide financial support for eligible dependents through Tuition Remission, Tuition Exchange, and Tuition Grants.
Employees should submit Tuition Program Applications to Lafayette as soon as their dependent begins applying to colleges. Because institutional deadlines vary, Tuition Exchange applications should be submitted at the time of an early decision application or no later than the beginning of the new year.
Please also note an important enhancement to our benefits: effective Spring 2026, the required length of service for eligibility has been reduced to two years of continuous full-time employment at Lafayette, rather than five years. In addition, prior full-time employment at another institution of higher education will count toward the service requirement for Tuition Exchange or Remission, provided it immediately preceded employment at Lafayette and there was no gap in full-time employment of more than three (3) months.
As a reminder, programs are also available for full-time staff and their spouses. This includes Part-Time Tuition Remission and LVAIC Cross-Registration. Eligibility rules and additional information on all of our tuition programs may be found on the Benefits section of the HR website at https://hr.lafayette.edu/tuition/.
If you have any questions regarding eligibility or the program, please contact Karen Yaskanin-Jones in HR at x3388 or yaskanik@lafayette.edu.
If you supervise employees who do not have routine access to email, please print out and post a copy of this email where they will easily see it.
