Lafayette College seeks a creative, energetic professional to advance the academic mission and the strategic priorities of the College through the project management and execution of digitization initiatives for purposes of research, teaching, preservation, and access. The position sits in the Department of Digital Scholarship Services at Lafayette College Libraries. It manages digitization labs, including scanning and photography equipment within the libraries; oversees outsourcing and quality control of select digitization projects; and contributes to the development of disciplinary digital collections to support the curriculum and research, including image production, using and displaying digital assets, and consultation on best practices for development and use of digital resources.

Responsibilities:
● Provide project management for the libraries’ digitization program.
● Oversee collaborative execution of digitization initiatives.
● Manage (including recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision) student workers.
● Consult on enterprise-level digital asset management within the academic division.
● Manage digital assets and related data throughout the digitization life cycle.
● Edit and process digital images through multiple formats to finalize publication and preservation assets.
● Develop and maintain documentation on project standards, workflows, hardware use and maintenance, and specialized software workflows.
● Manage the use and maintenance of digitization equipment in library spaces, in collaboration with the Library Systems & Technology Manager.
● Support students and faculty using publicly accessible digitization equipment in library spaces, through consultation, workshop instruction, and other programming.
Qualifications:
● ALA-accredited Master’s Degree in library/information science.
● 3-5 years relevant experience.
● Excellent project management, task prioritization, and time management skills.
● Demonstrated knowledge of library & cultural heritage digitization standards and best practices (e.g., FADGI guidelines).
● Demonstrated knowledge of color calibration tools and techniques to customize imaging workflows as needed.
● Strong work ethic and service orientation.
● Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
● Proven ability to work closely and effectively with a wide range of collaborators.
● Strongly self-directed; ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Preferred qualifications:
● Experience with 3D imaging techniques and equipment.
● Interest in AR/VR/XR (immersive technologies) and 3D modeling technologies.
