The Assistant Director of Athletics Operations & Marketing is responsible for managing the department’s operational functions while leading and supporting key initiatives for the athletic department. This role entails strategic project management, team travel coordination, facilitating communication and collaboration between departments, gameday operations, and athletics marketing. The position interacts directly with a cross-section of campus personnel, including athletic coaches, student-athletes, staff, and faculty. This position will report directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Oversee all athletic team travel in coordination with Shorts Travel Management. Be accessible and available to manage and rectify travel issues that arise. Manage team travel calendar for the department, including detailed itineraries.
● Through collaboration with appropriate Athletics leadership, prepare reports, presentations, etc. for athletics meetings and/or special events as needed.
● Plan and coordinate agendas for department events and meetings.
● Lead the planning and execution of department special events such as the PARDees, Maroon Madness, etc.
● Assist in the management of game day/event operations ensuring that facilities are set up and ready for all events.
● Recruit, schedule, and supervise Athletics Gameday Event Staff and Student Workers.
● Lead the management team in project management initiatives to meet the goals and objectives of the department as they relate to the college’s strategic plan.
● In coordination with Athletics Communications, create and execute marketing plans, with an emphasis on raising attendance, enhancing the gameday experience, and sponsorship integration.
● Establish effective on-campus marketing efforts aimed at increasing student attendance and engagement.
● Coordinate with the Ticket and Promotions Manager to assist in the management of community outreach programs and mascot activities with the objective of increasing group ticket sales and group participation at athletics events.
● Build and maintain relationships with on-campus student groups and organizations.
● Perform other duties to assist with ongoing activities and events of the athletic department.

Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in a related field preferred
● 2-4 years of experience preferred in college athletics
● Effective time management skills; having the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
● Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project management or similar initiatives.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality.
● Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; able to respond to changes in priorities and can multitask.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to cultivate professional relationships with students-athletes and staff and be passionate about the
student-athlete experience. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Computer/Technological skills, able to work with a diverse group of people with various backgrounds, education levels, and cultural differences. Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Compensation & Application:
The is a full-time 12 month position and includes a competitive benefits package. Salary range is $45,000-$50,000 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
