The Event Support Associate provides logistical and technical support and oversight for events, meetings, and conferences on the Lafayette College campus. The Associate is the onsite point of contact for events, particularly after hours and on weekends. The Associate will assist with and oversee complex space setups, including the deployment of audio-visual equipment, furniture, and externally rented equipment. This position is highly visible throughout event duration, expected to have in-depth knowledge of campus spaces and technology and be able to professionally and appropriately respond to and resolve any event-related concerns. The Associate is a key member of the Conferences & Events team and reports to the Senior Manager of Conferences & Events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the setup and tear down of events, including furniture and audio-visual equipment.
• Coordinate with Facilities and Catering to ensure services are scheduled and completed according to event timeline.
• Monitor and run EMS reporting to plan and coordinate service schedules.
• Communicate with internal and external event requestors to confirm setup details.
• Be visible and onsite for events, acting as the single point of contact for any event related questions.
• Conduct regular inventory of equipment.
• Participate in weekly event planning meetings.
• Be available to work nights and weekends based on scheduled events.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements
This position requires routine additional hours as well as weekend hours for time sensitive projects and events. This position requires at least one year of event oversight/coordination and a working knowledge of audio-visual equipment. The position also requires:

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time.
• Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills and experience working in a fast- paced multicultural environment.
