The Office of Human Resource's offers one combined Open Enrollment period for your medical, dental, flexible spending, supplemental life insurance coverage, and vision coverage.
This year’s Open Enrollment begins Oct. 30, 2015, and continues through Nov. 23, 2015. During Open Enrollment, employees may make changes to their benefits plans. All of the plans offered during the Open Enrollment period are based on a calendar year (Jan. 1, 2016, through Dec. 31, 2016); therefore changes made during this period will be effective Jan. 1, 2016.
During Open Enrollment, you can make changes to your benefit plans without having to show evidence of a “life status change.” Once you have made your elections, you cannot change them during the plan year unless you experience a life status change event as qualified under IRS regulations Section 125.
Highmark Blue Shield will continue as the College’s Health Insurance carrier for 2016. Dental insurance will remain with Blue Cross Dental and continue to be administered by Capital BlueCross. Discovery Benefits will continue as the College’s Flexible Spending Administrator for 2016. Detailed information can be found in the Open Enrollment Brochure.
The College has selected the Standard Insurance Company as its new group life and disability insurance carrier for 2016. It is important that you complete a new life insurance beneficiary designation form. (Please refer to the Life Insurance section for this form.)
