The Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations plays a key role in the management of Lafayette College’s athletic facilities and operational functions. This position provides leadership in facility management, event operations, and strategic project execution while supporting departmental initiatives. Core responsibilities include oversight of athletic facilities and maintenance coordination, game day operations, team travel logistics, and department-wide project management. The Assistant Director works closely with coaches, student-athletes, and campus partners to ensure a first-class experience and reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Team Travel Coordination
○ Oversee all athletic team travel logistics, including scheduling, transportation, lodging, and itineraries.
○ Manage the department’s master travel calendar and assist teams with troubleshooting travel-related issues.
● Facility Management
○ Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and scheduling of athletic facilities to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and presentation.
○ Communicate with campus facilities, custodial, and grounds teams to coordinate repairs and improvements.
○ Monitor facility work orders, ensure timely completion, and assist in long-range planning for facility upgrades and enhancements.
● Event and Game Day Operations
○ Assist in planning, staffing, and executing game day and special event operations for all home athletic contests and department events.
○ Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise game day event staff and student workers.
○ Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure efficient event setup, breakdown, and compliance with NCAA, conference, and College policies.
● Project Management
○ Lead planning and execution of department-wide special events such as the PARDees.
○ Lead and support strategic initiatives and projects that advance departmental goals and align with the College’s strategic priorities.
● Engagement and Outreach
○ In partnership with Athletics Communications, support the creation and execution of marketing/promotion plans to enhance attendance and the fan experience.
○ Collaborate with the Ticket and Promotions Manager to expand community outreach and group engagement initiatives and assist with in-game promotions when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a related field preferred. 2–4 years of experience in college athletics, event operations, or facility management preferred.

Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Successful completion of PA State Police, PA Child Abuse, and FBI background checks upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate and solve operational challenges.
