As this time of year marks the beginning of the college application process for high school seniors for admission to college next fall, the Office of Human Resources wants to be sure that you are fully familiar with Lafayette’s Tuition Programs. The Tuition Remission program is available to qualified dependent children of faculty and staff who have at least five years of continuous full-time service at Lafayette, and provides full tuition support for students who attend Lafayette. Tuition Exchange is likewise available to faculty and staff with at least five years of continuous full-time service at Lafayette, and provides the possibility of tuition support at more than 600 participating institutions (www.tuitionexchange.org/). The Tuition Grant program is available to qualified dependent children of faculty and staff with at least 10 years of continuous full-time service at Lafayette, and provides tuition support at accredited colleges or universities of up to 50% of the amount of Lafayette College’s tuition. In order to qualify for any of the foregoing programs, the parent must be a full-time and continuing employee on the payroll of the College.
For all three programs, the process starts with the Office of Human Resources at Lafayette. If you think you will be applying for Tuition Remission, Tuition Exchange, or Tuition Grant support for the 2023-24 academic year, please complete the application found at on our HR Forms and Resources page at: https://hr.lafayette.edu/forms/#tuition by the end of the calendar year prior to the year of matriculation. Eligibility rules and additional information on all of our tuition programs may be found on the HR website under “Tuition Program Benefit.”
Your child does not need to have selected or been accepted to college to apply for the Tuition Program. We encourage you to submit your Tuition Program Application when your child first starts submitting college applications. For the Tuition Exchange program, our experience has been that the sooner you apply, the better your chances of being accepted into a participating institution’s Exchange program.
Part-Time Faculty and Staff, Visiting Faculty, Interns, and their children are not eligible for tuition benefits.
Please contact Karen in HR at yaskanik@lafayette.edu or 610-330-3388, if you have any questions or to verify your eligibility.
If you supervise employees who do not have routine access to email, please print out and post a copy of this email where they will easily see it. Thank you.
