This position provides secretarial and clerical support to assigned administrators, faculty, and departments in support of the efficient operation of the department. This position is full time at .75 FTE (full-time equivalent).


  • Scheduling appointments in the EHR (Electronic Health Record)
  • Maintain files
  • Photocopying, faxing,  and scanning
  • Perform online research, ex. TRAVEX
  • Submit Dean’s excuses
  • Prepare correspondence
  • Respond to inquiries
  • Prepare part-time payroll
  • Handle purchases, invoices, and payments
  • Act as department receptionist answering telephones and sorting mail
  • Maintain calendars – schedule meetings and appointments
  • Maintain/track budgets
  • Prepare travel and expense reimbursements
  • Prepare mailings
  • Submit work orders
  • Communication with parents, students, faculty, and staff
  • Coordinate department searches
  • Event support including securing reservations, catering, work orders, and other logistical requirements
  • Listens carefully to understand, ask questions to clarify
  • Works well as part of a team, valuing others’ differing perspectives
  • Other related duties as required


  • Minimum of 6 months work experience
  • HS Diploma
  • Proficiency at the basic level for Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn new programs such as an EHR (Electronic Health Record)
  • Knowledge with other programs as Banner, Goggle, Forge
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask

  • Experience in higher education
  • Ability to learn and use new computer and web-based applications and products (such as FAMIS, Maxient, Qualtrics, EMS, Banner, Medicat, Forge, Google etc.)
  • Medical background or basic knowledge useful


While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or push up to 40 lbs.
