This full-time, administrative position involves the management of instrument facilities, laboratory and research support and teaching, supporting the Department of Chemistry & Department of Geology and Geosciences.


Duties will include supporting the setup, maintenance, and operation of instruments; training of students and faculty in their proper use; working with other campus specialists (e.g. Instrumentation, Laboratory, Information Technology, Environmental Health and Safety); working with faculty and students in the design, testing, and implementation of laboratory experiments; design and construction of teaching and research apparatus; maintenance of field equipment; and driving 12 passenger vans.  Teaching assignments will include assisting faculty in laboratories such as General Chemistry, and possibly other laboratories depending on the expertise of the successful candidate.

Master’s or higher degree in related science or engineering area preferred, proficiency with a variety of modern instrumentation and computers required. Individuals with a bachelors’ degree and exceptional experience and skills will be considered.
